RAW FEEDERS ONLY PLEASE-Should I give bones to a 16 year old recent raw convert?

My two spayed female cats ate kibble for the first 14 years of their lives, (one is now 15 and one turns 16 in July) and than I guess I grew a brain lol. They now do still have to eat a bit of urinary kibble to prevent UTIs but eat mostly raw organic grass fed red meat and organic free range poultry and have been for about 6 monthes when I switched my puppy. Before that they got a lot of By Nature Organics grain-free canned. They love it and it's improved their health so much just in the six months that it's unbelievable. I'd been giving them commercial Paw Naturaw raw poultry patties (originally bought for the puppy, who refused) and recently started giving them some of the ground beef I had for the puppy (she absolutely will not eat bones so I give organic eggshell powder instead) I had been tearing it into tiny pieces for them under the assumption that if the puppy wouldn't eat it in one piece, neither would they. I was tearing up the pieces for my younger cat Tigger when lo and behold Tabitha didn't want to wait and attacked her portion whole and tore it up all by herself. I ws so proud of her! . Anyways, this leads my to believe she'd have no problem with tearing meat off of bones and possibly even consuming the bones themselves. Tigger still needs hers torn into itty bitty chunks unfortunatly, but I would LOVE to be able to give at least Tabitha raw meaty bones for the dental benefits but don't know if I should-she didn't grow up eating bones at all and I'm afraid she won't properly chew (her teeth aren't bad but not in the best shape) and end up choking. Also, what are the softest. easiest bones to start with? I'm thinking maybe chicken necks? Or maybe even day old chicks if I can find them? I'm not averse to anything no matter how expensive or gross as long as I can get it organic. .Since my puppy won't touch bones I've never fed them. Thanks!

How do I deal with my crazy roommate?

My roommate, and best friend for about 10 years now, is going absoluetly batty. I just started a new long distance relationship with a guy I really care about, and all she can seem to do is question and doubt the relationship. Recently she even went as far to ignore us when we came into the room. Her disapproval of the relationship is written all over her face and body language. She asks patronizing questions about the relationship to me, and makes presumptuous assumptions about what his intentions are. I have had some experience, Ive done a school play and went to Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting for some experience. If she can do things when she has to perhaps she would respond to a request like "Could you please take the children to school today" The other thing is to include her is some decision making. The other thing is her weight might make her hate to go out in public. The doctor might be able to help with that too. I think your first step is for her to have a thorough health check and then go from there. It is one thing being supportive but it is not kind to let her let herself go completely. Ok so I play the guitar. Stacy (this isn't her real name) whom I was friends with and Beth (isn't her real name either) started to hang out with me towards the time of talent show auditions. I've tried hanging out with them b4 but I felt like they left me out too much. We became best friends and did everything together! But then they got mad at my other friend, Jess (I'm just gonna change all these names) for a reason I thought was stupid. They started texted her mean things and sadly I got into it too. We acted like we where the victims but deep down inside I agreed with Jess. How do I get past my resentment of my wife?

I know this is long but please consider helping me if you can. We've had some problems over the last year. I finished my advanced degree and prepared to enter a new career. Around this time I found out she had carried on a flirtation with a man at her work. She was also in the habit of making very hurtful comments that insulted me as a man. This culminated in the week I found out about the flirtation from her coworkers cracking jokes about it at a party. I swear if someone had walked up to me at the party and yanked my pants down I would have been less humiliated. Later that week I caught her behaving in a forward manner with a guy delivering something to our home. She was very blatant about it and let him get away with some insulting behavior and encouraged him. I asked her about it later and she said that he was her type of man. This really hit me. I felt like over time she had lost respect for me. I also felt that I was the one who always tried to fix everything and that I was walking on eggshells around her. I worried so much she would leave me or that I was a bad husband. It seemed like everywhere I looked there was some article or tv talk show advising that men failed to be good husbands today and I worried a lot. When I talked to family or friends they seemed to always ask if I was showing her romance or sensitivity, and then advised me to take her out to dinner "once in a while." But I took her out about once a week on average and brought her flowers or a card all the time. For her birthday I bought her a great gift but she said she was disappointed and hoped I would do better next year. I guess I realized that I couldn't fix things and that trying to talk to her seriously about it just made things worse. So a few weeks ago I stopped trying. I still work hard for us and do my share at the house and fix things. But I don't ask her to talk with me about the relationship. If she gets mad about something or complains, which she did a lot, I just ignored it. I basically started to live my own life and not worry so much about her and her happiness because I felt like I couldn't make her happy. Since I started this it seems like she has done a 180 and works hard to talk with me and make me happy. She complains now and then but overall she avoids doing that. Do eggshells release toxic fumes when they burn?

I work at a job were you have to meet quality and have a monthly review and if you fail three months in a row you are out the door. They do the firing so tacky as I like to describe it. They will call the person to the back and then the managers will clear out there cubicle with a box and you never see that person again. Everyone is forced to watch this then get back to work. Its allot of pressure on myself and my co-workers seeing this happen all day everyday. With the economy as it is I think companies know they can treat us like crap and we have to take it. Is it normal to go to work nervous, stressed and heart beating fast every single day from when you walk in until you walk out? That is how my life has been.

Does marriage counseling actually work?

Don't you think it's at least worth a try? Sometimes it helps, and sometimes it doesn't. But you have to go in with an open mind and give it an honest try. It only works if you really give it your full attention and follow the suggestions of the therapist. My husband and I saw one for a while, and I think it helped us out quite a bit. I don't know if we'd have made it through that rough patch without it, and now we communicate SO much better and can work our way through anything. Go, give it a try..

I'm 21, almost 22, and I'm barely with my second boyfriend. He's 27 and he works a lot. He has his regular job in an office and then he also wants to be a successful actor. So he's taking 2 acting classes a week and goes to auditions. Plus he's currently doing a play this summer so he rehearses for that. I have gone 2-3 weeks without seeing him so far. I'm only a college student. Is it a problem that he doesn't spend time with me as much I want him to, or am I just needy?

What should I do about my fiances anger problems?

We have been dating for about 3 1/2 years now... we just got engaged a little while ago. I love him more than anything but I just don't know what to do about his temper. Leaving him is not an option. Why has my wife changed her behavior so much?

I know this is long but please consider helping me if you can. We've had some problems over the last year. I finished my advanced degree and prepared to enter a new career. Around this time I found out she had carried on a flirtation with a man at her work. She was also in the habit of making very hurtful comments that insulted me as a man. This culminated in the week I found out about the flirtation from her coworkers cracking jokes about it at a party. I swear if someone had walked up to me at the party and yanked my pants down I would have been less humiliated. Later that week I caught her behaving in a forward manner with a guy delivering something to our home. She was very blatant about it and let him get away with some insulting behavior and encouraged him. I asked her about it later and she said that he was her type of man. This really hit me. I felt like over time she had lost respect for me. I also felt that I was the one who always tried to fix everything and that I was walking on eggshells around her. I worried so much she would leave me or that I was a bad husband. It seemed like everywhere I looked there was some article or tv talk show advising that men failed to be good husbands today and I worried a lot. When I talked to family or friends they seemed to always ask if I was showing her romance or sensitivity, and then advised me to take her out to dinner "once in a while." But I took her out about once a week on average and brought her flowers or a card all the time. For her birthday I bought her a great gift but she said she was disappointed and hoped I would do better next year. I guess I realized that I couldn't fix things and that trying to talk to her seriously about it just made things worse. So a few weeks ago I stopped trying. I still work hard for us and do my share at the house and fix things. But I don't ask her to talk with me about the relationship. If she gets mad about something or complains, which she did a lot, I just ignored it. I basically started to live my own life and not worry so much about her and her happiness because I felt like I couldn't make her happy. Since I started this it seems like she has done a 180 and works hard to talk with me and make me happy. She complains now and then but overall she avoids doing that. Is this a good thing? Hi, I asked earlier so I apologize if you've read it before. We've been together for 6 years and have had ups and downs. She's a great wife and friend overall. We've had problems over the past year. She's made some hurtful comments, doubted me as a husband, criticized me frequently, and had a flirtation with a guy at her work. We've worked it out but in a way it has brought back memories of when she dumped me years ago when we were dating. She dumped me the same week my parents each told me they were getting divorced and so would no longer support me in college (each wanted to hurt the other through me). That time I worked hard to win her back after getting a job to put myself through school, but she in some ways was reluctant to get back together and at one point told me she would date other guys for a while even when we were back on. I accepted this and fortunately she never did date others, but I think it started a tendency of mine to feel very insecure and to walk on eggshells around her. Part of what has always bothered me, both then and now these recent problems, is that my wife sometimes thinks I overreact to things and am insecure. She sees a lot of what she does as harmless and that I am insecure or dramatic. She says she didn't tell me about her work flirtation because she knew I'd overreact. Why does my tomato plant look like it's dying?

My wife and I decided to start a garden to grow our own plants, among other things we did was to get one of those topsy turvy planters for a tomato plant, Over the last three weeks, it's been doing very well. I've been watering it once to twice daily until the water starts draining through the bottom of the planter, it gets plenty of sun, I've placed some eggshells, coffee grounds, and banana peels in the top for fertilizing purposes, and the stems are almost all thick and strong. Just yesterday, the mother of our soon to be neighbors was over working on their property and she said the plant is doing much better than her own, and she's been growing them for years. today, I went out to have a look at it and water it, and half of the leaves and stems have turned yellow. all of the yellow ones are the thinner ones, the thick main stems are fine, but the smaller ones have me worried. is there something I've done wrong with the plant, and is there anything I can do to undo any damage?

My guess is that it is your wireless router, your modem or your wireless network card ( your Intel Centrino) or could be a cable problem going to your router/modem It is pretty hard to say with out some tests. Try plugging your laptop directly to your modem and see if that resolves the problem. If it does than replace your wireless router. If it doesn't check to make sure that your modem is not cycling on and off. If the connectivity lights go on and off then you might want to get a new modem. Try using someone elses wireless connection or a public WiFi and see if you are still having the same problem. If you are then you either have a failing wireless card or faulty drivers. You could also have a bad cable going from your wall to your modem or modem to wireless router. Get new cables.

Claire, I'm so sorry you and your mom are going through this. I'm glad you are able to communicate with your mom, and that she is trying to leave. I understand how hard it must be for you. But don't feel guilty. Your mom is in the middle no matter what because your her daughter and that is her husband, it was her choice. You should not have to feel like you are walking on eggshells in your own home. Your mom needs to protect you as she is responsible for your well being. She needs to have a plan in place to leave as soon as possible because of the emotional abuse that is taking place. Call the domestic violence hotline in your area and tell them your situation and they can get you and your mom into a safehouse if necessary. Good luck

As far as I know, the periodic table has over 90 elements. It would be difficult but use flashcards, record yourself saying them and listen to them over and over (edit this to make it into a song - it should be funny and if you laugh at something you'll remember it [that's what my science teacher told me]), reading over the periodic table wouldn't be a good idea as it's tedious and it is difficult to remember

What is wrong with my mom?

My first thought was that she's probably too busy to actually enjoy it. Also, since she finds traveling around the world a normal vacation little things that most people enjoy such as family get togethers, or holiday's seem like nothing. She can't enjoy the priceless things in life. Which also makes me think maybe she's a snobby stuck up beotch. I definitely thought this when you said she was upset that you didn't pick up the house for the cleaning lady...isn't that the cleaning lady's job?! The way you approached her with your feelings wasn't appropriate, however your feelings towards her are normal. You should have a heart to heart with her, if she's not too busy. Really let her know how her mood affects her, and when she throws out excuses such as menopause tell her that you don't understand why she'd take out anger she got from something you have no control over on you and the family. I know what you mean when you always have to be the one to apologize to make things better, I had the same problem with a family member. We didn't talk for months, and she ended up getting back in touch with me. We were both past the anger we had from being around each other, and through the part where you think "Ohh, this would be much better with _____ here". We're fine now, and the break was worth it. You should either try talking to your mother alone sometime, and if it goes terrible (or if she refuses because she's "too busy") then wait it out. Don't bother talking to her until she realizes how much you mean to her and decides to get a hold of you herself. Hire a babysitter, it will prove a point and will be less stressful. If you can't afford a babysitter definitely find a new job. Just give it time, trust me. Everything will eventually fall into place, and you will know when it's happening. If you're questionable about it...then it's not happening. But it will. It always does.

What would you do if it was your sister?

My sister who is 65 and her controlling bully husband raise their bi polar grandaughter who is 12, the father of the child is bi-polar they support him financially, but he does not live with them, the mother is not in the picture but she is bi polar also, The whole family is so dysfunctional its pathetic. My sister has had such a rough life and i feel so sorry for her, she is stressed to the limit. Her husband is a big bully and dictates the whole house.he has always been that way, she has always had to walk on eggshells and try and keep peace so he doesn't get all mad. He abuses my sister not physically but mentally by having it his way or no way. When i go visit my sister, which i do often i have to witness how unfair everyone is treated, her husband has always been an A hole, i have never confronted him about his behavior, never thought is was my place, of course my sister complains to me, which i really don't mind listening, but if i were to confront him and speak my mind he would probably make it miserable for me to see her, plus its such a toxic atmosphere to be around that by the time i leave im depressed. I'm 19 and for years my dad has always had a bad temper and anger problems. He blows up over anything trivial.He blames everyone for his problems, especially family. He calls me worthless and lazy even though me and my bro both go to school/college and have weekend jobs. I hate my boyfriends mother!?

My boyfriend and I have been going out for over a year, I love him but I hate his parents! His mum is soo highly strung and SUCH a drama queen and my boyfriend and his dad indulge her in every freak out she has! Its not impossible, but he has to really want to change. The way he is treating you is so wrong, that's not love. Try work it out by going to counseling. But if he clearly is not going to change you do need to leave him. The way he s treating you is not okay. He also needs to stop the drugs, not just for you, but for himself too. He will change if he truly wants to.

HELP BABY CHICKS HAVE FALLEN OUT OF A TREE!?

There were baby chicks fallen from a tree and they looked like they were just hatched, parts of eggshell still attached. So my parents are wanting to take me, my brother, sister, brother n law, and 5 month old niece to Gatlinburg for like 3 or 4 days. Going to try and make a long story short....three weeks ago I left my emotionally/verbally abusive husband and moved three hours away, with our child (he's 4), to be with my family. On Easter Sunday he had threatened to beat the **** out of me and kill me. That was my last straw and from that moment forward I started planning my escape. With legal advice, I decided the best thing to do was move away as fast as I could. Over the past 4 years the emotional abuse, suicide threats, and anger has gotten worse and worse. I begged him numerous times to please get help...he always refused to go to counseling or get on medication. I tried so hard to make things work, I walked on eggshells daily, feared the next time he would get mad, and got to a point that I didn't want to go home or spend any time with him...When I left him it sent him into what he calls "crisis" mode...and it got him into emergency counseling and got him in to see a psychiatrist for free...he was diagnosed bipolar phase 1, and has been put on depakote, which I has suspected for a very long time. He never thought it was real, he said that it was just people around him pushing his buttons the wrong way and making him angry. He says I never should have kidnapped his child away from him. One minute he says he's going to fight me for full custody, the next he's saying he doesn't want anything to do with either of us anymore, the next he's ready to kill himself because he can't take the pain from all of this. He says I should have NEVER left a sick man like this...I could not take it anymore. It has put me In a depression and caused my concentration to be absent, along with my anxiety and OCD to be very bad. I basically left him with nothing because I was the only one working and paying the bills, while he was in school and I was having to help him with his homework cause he didn't feel like doing it...I'm also In grad school and take care of our child...he did nothing around the house to help me, nor did he...

Wall smudges from moving furniture?

Hi, I have eggshell-finished, light yellow-colored painted walls in my new apartment, and while moving in, they got scuffed by furniture and dirt in several places. I tried using a wet rag and a Mr Clean magic eraser to clean them, and all while both removed the dirt/smudges, it also left a dark spot that looks like a watermark. What's the best way to deal with a mother that overreacts about EVERYTHING?

There could be many reasons for her outbursts and anger. Even though she may be dealing with her underlying issues in the wrong way, she may be going through menopause which can be horrible for some women as it really affects our hormone system. She also may be having issues with the man in her life. Aging also brings on mental issues and/or she may be in depression. You are getting older and will be leaving home soon. As a Mother, it is very difficult to go through the " Empty Nest " syndrome. Do something very different and ask her out for coffee, or to a juice stand or even for a walk in the park. Then lightly bring up how you feel being a young woman and that you have been worried about her lately. Try to get her to open up her feelings -YES-let her talk about herself. You never know-but life pulls hard punches and we never know when we may lose someone we love. Take it easy with her and let her know you love her very much !

My fiance has a 22 year old son who works making 300/wk. He will not pay rent, he will not buy his own stuff. What did someone shoot or throw at my car?

This happened about an hour ago. I was driving down a residential street on my way home from work then BOOM...right on my drivers side door, scared the crap out of me. So I pull over and look around and of course it's dark. I got a flashlight out and looked at my door and saw something wet but little whitish but mostly clear (don't get funny now)...I'm guessing an egg?? LIZARD HELP :( !!! can it get into my bed??!?

PTSD From Emotional Abuse?

I know that war veterans and people who have been physically and sexually abused can develop PTSD, but what about those who were emotionally abused? In my case, physical abuse only took place on less than ten occasions and it was never life-threatening, but the criticism and manipulation and years of walking on eggshells and thinking the entire thing was my fault makes me wonder. I need some help with my bf :(?

My bf and I are both 16 and have been dating for 10 months. Here's some background info on my bf. He is quick to anger/irritated and sometimes isn't very patient or understanding. But we have had a pretty good relationship dispite that. But lately he seems to be getting irritated over the smallest things. I have told him in the past many times that it makes me uncomfortable to hold hands during the school day (because people stare) but everyday he tries to grab my hand. It's hard because I have to gently push him away. Today he told me it felt like a big "f*ck you" when I do that to him. Also, on the car ride home he was hyper and I was staring out my window when he stopped and got mad at me and said it's so annoying when people ignore him. I wasn't ignoring him btw. He just has been so sensitive lately to small little things. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. What can I do? He doesn't open up to me unless I nag him about it. I feel so lonely. Yes, I have talked to him about this. What should I do? What can I do? Please help me :(

Should I be upset with her?

Me & my mom were talking. I was telling her about how one of my friends auditioned for modeling and acting career & she got accepted. Not to be mean but she's a bit chubby.... to be a model. Then my mom blurts out "I got calls when you were younger from people asking if you could be used for modeling".. Of course after that I was like WTF & you didn't accept??! Her excuse was " Well I didn't want anything big to come out of it. Like you're a great singer and I didn't want you to become a child star. You needed a normal childhood" I am not one of those girls who go around talking about how ugly I am because I don't think I'm ugly and I think girls who do that either have problems or just want attention. Back to what I was saying. I could have been somebody more than I am today but it's my mom's fault I'm not because she rejected! Should I be upset? Would you be upset?

i have to pick some monologues and i have nothing really i feel like i have no emotion with it...im really good with like dramatic ones but i need to find others! If anyone has any monologue i can do it will be great. I know im doing gillian on her 37th birthday and sunbonnet sue...i need something else but really i want something more modern something i could really relate to that is a problem most people have. What should I do if my mom is having an emotional breakdown?

I'm a graduate student and I live with my parents. I am engaged to a man who is currently in school to be a pilot, to be completed at the end of this year, and we have been engaged for over a year. We have not started planning our wedding yet though because every time I start talking about it, my mom has a breakdown. My dad loves my fiance and has no problem with our engagement, but sometimes I'll come home from work or school and my mom will be waiting for me to tell me she is leaving my dad because he supports my engagement. She cried for a week once because my fiance was trying to make me feel better about a grade that I was worried about, and she decided that it was all his fault and he was a bad influence on me and wanted me to fail in life. She says he lacks ambition and will never amount to anything, when he is a top student in his program. Her childish behavior is nothing new, as she frequently packed her bags and "left" my dad numerous times throughout my childhood over things that seem silly, and then came back a few hours later. Everything sends her into an emotional panic and there is no rest in our house. She really has a hold over our family, and we all walk on eggshells to keep her happy. The thing is, I love her and she loves me and she isn't necessarily a bad mother, but I feel strangled. At the same time, I do not want to hurt her because I can't stand it when she disapproves of me. I am terrified to even mention my relationship around her anymore. Everyone else's engagement is a happy time, and mine might as well be a cancer diagnosis. I want to reach out to someone, like another family member, but I don't know how appropriate it would be to talk badly about my mom to her family. I need to move out I suppose, but I can't afford it at the moment. Is she crazy? What should I do?

I'm auditioning for America's Got Talent. Help, please?

I can only answer two of those questions. For how long do I preform for the judges, try and do your whole act. Make it short, so only a bit of the song, but long enough to show the judges how well you can sing. Just make sure it isn't too long that would bore everyone. And then if you make it, you would go on to the second round that would be wherever they want it to be, I think its in Hollywood, but I'm not sure. After that you keep competing until you are either eliminated or declared winner :D good luck, I'll root for ya.

Memorizing the periodic table is not necessary.You should just know first 20-30 elements,all the noble gases and the first element name in the Lanthanide and actinide series which are Lanthanium and acitinum respectively.

Seeking advice - Arranged marriage - How to live with an awful husband?

I am 22 years old. I was wed in an arranged marriage by my parents 2 years ago, and I am so unhappy in my life. My husband is not the type of person I pictured myself spending my life with. He has extreme, extreme anger issues. He gets angry and emotionally abusive more quickly and more often than anyone I have ever met. He works from home on his computer, so he spends literally from the minute he wakes up until the minute he goes to sleep either on his computer or playing video games. He does not love me - he is unloving, uncaring, very nasty and bitter to be married to me. I walk on eggshells every minute of the day now in my life because if I say the wrong thing, he will snap. Even physically he is not attractive to me. He is in the "obese" category and has very poor hygiene. He doesn't care about taking care of himself, or me. All he wants in his life is to play video games and see lustful things. I find myself spending my life being as quiet and obedient and out of the way as possible, but I am so unhappy. I am at my wits end and I don't know what to do. Divorce is not an option for me because we have a daughter together now, and I refuse to have to have time apart from her for custody reasons. We are in WA state, so the divorce laws are to split everything 50/50, including child custody. What can I do to make myself happier in my life?? Please help!!!!!!

You just cannot go on what others say about a person because that's THEIR opinion & so be it. But you on the other hand also have your choice to make your own opinions. THEY are the ones that are the most important to you. When she tells you to go to your room just to get you out of her sight, why don't you instead ask her if you can just go outside for a walk around & that would get you out of her site, but at least you wouldn't be stuck in your room. Tell her you want me out of your site, then please just let me go outside to get out of your way as it serves the SAME purpose. But as far as your dad, that's totally up to you as to how you feel about him, no one has to MAKE you dislike him if YOU don't want to.
